'I contacted Michelle because I was becoming increasingly panicky every time I needed an MRI scan for an ongoing condition, and I wanted to be able to cope without taking medication or constantly backing out of having the scans. Fear of the process was taking over my life every time a new appointment came through. With the Covid situation, we met via Zoom, which I found very straightforward. Michelle was very kind, calm, relaxed and helpful in the way she dealt with my concerns, providing me with 6 sessions, each consisting of some talking followed by a period of deep relaxation which she talked me through. Her idea was for me to ‘reframe’ my negative thoughts so that when I had the scan I would view the process positively and handle it, and be able to think of future appointments the same as I would a dental appointment – not necessarily enjoyable but also nothing to worry about. Michelle sent me the relaxation recordings so I could listen to them at any time, and also keep to help me deal with any future stressful times. I’m very pleased to say that I was successful at my next scan, which was a very long one and in a smaller machine than before, so I felt very pleased with myself and very grateful to Michelle for her help and support.
