Menopause

Menopause and perimenopause is a time in a woman's life which can bring many changes, which can sometimes feel daunting and challenging.

By using CBT techniques I can support you to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flushes and night sweats, stress and anxiety by offering a bespoke CBT combined with hypnotherapy approach. See below for more information. This can also help to relieve any sleep problems, weight changes, low self esteem, lack of confidence and motivation, IBS and many more.

My interest in menopause began when I was approaching the age when menopause symptoms start. I have always had an interest in mental health and wellbeing, yet I did not realise how many psychological symptoms were associated with menopause and perimenopause and this is when my interest grew. I also mistakenly thought that I would not be able to take HRT because I have migraines with aura, yet I can!

 

HRT is considered to be the best way to treat menopause and perimenopause however, some women either can’t or don’t want to take it and hypnotherapy is perfectly placed to help with some of the associated physical and psychological symptoms. I believe that taking HRT it is an individual choice and I do not judge or persuade this decision. Menopause not only affects the woman but their family, friends, work colleagues and everyone she has contact with, yet it's common to also feel isolated, alone and misunderstood.

One to One CBT for the management of menopause symptoms including hot flushes & night sweats 

6 sessions - £490

Group CBT - 6 sessions - 2 hours each session. Minimum 10 people.

Online or face to face £210 (£35 per session)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is recommended by NICE (2015) as a treatment option for women during perimenopause and post menopause.

Session 3

  • Monitor progress - what is working?

  • Hot flushes - ways to help you manage

  • Examining thoughts, beliefs and behaviour

  • Social situations - ways to help you manage

Session 4

  • Hot flushes - review of progress

  • Anxiety & Stress - what can help

  • Sleep - ways to help you sleep better

  • Night sweats - managing symptoms
